Natural sciences

Is studying natural sciences worth less than studying one of its subjects as a course. E.g., natural sciences offers biochemistry, which is also a course on its own. Which would be worth more in the eyes of an employer?

Nope it shouldn’t be! Really it’s just a show of what you wanted in your course - something more broad or more specific. I suppose it depends on the employer and what they want from you but there shouldn’t be any different weighting based on the name of the course. Just make sure you can show an employer specifically what you’re interested in (e.g. by the modules you take)
Hi

I'm a third year Natural Science student, and can quite confidently say that it is not worth less than one of the subjects on its own!
In my experience, I have found Nat Sci to be really good at helping me develop interdepartmental skills, that often peers in one singular department don't always have. For example, I study physics and environmental science, and in the summer I was able to build an automatic rain gauge out of lego that I took with me on a field research trip to the Alps. My knowledge of engines, circular motion etc really helped me to develop this idea. This is is no way saying that you wouldn't otherwise have opportunities to develop cross-subject skills, but Nat Sci does seem to be a bit of a boiling pot for new ideas across disciplines.
Like in other response, I'd recommend that when you find what sort of thing you want to go into, make sure you have a copy of your transcript or similar that shows what modules you have taken, so that you can explain what and why you learnt certain things.

I hope this helps!
