URGENT: Veterinary medicine Uni decision

Hi all, I have applied for Veterinary Medicine at Uni starting Sept 2026, I have received offers from Surrey, Liverpool and Nottingham but I’m having a really hard time deciding between them.

Can any existing vet students give me an idea of what each uni is like and they’re teaching style etc. I have visited all of them and researched them but I’m still struggling. So I’d like to hear what the actual students think about each course!

I’m an applicant too for vet med. Just a suggestion, why don’t you go to the offer holder days and wait until then to pick your firm and insurance?

I’ve been to the Surrey one but I just wanted to get some other views online because I’m still stuck

Ah I see! I loved Nottingham and preferred this to Liverpool. I have spoken to students at Liverpool who have said it isn’t as clinical as some of the other vet schools? Which is why I was leaning towards Notts. I haven’t seen Surrey but people have said it was great!

I mean all three are pretty amazing vet schools! So I’m sure wherever you go you will have an amazing time. Sorry I’m not of much help! 🤣

I know and Nottingham would normally be my top choice but they gave me an offer for the April cohort and I’m not really sure if I’d be okay doing that for 5 years

I have an offer for April cohort too! I guess it’s just if you want to deal with the April cohort at Notts compared to the Sept in Surrey or Liverpool I guess

I'm just talking as a mum but I liked the April cohort option. I think you guys have worked so hard to get where you are, a bit of a break (mini gap year) would be good. Also I heard when we went for the open day that it was easier to get EMS because you would be on a different schedule to all the other vet schools. I really liked Nottingham but my daughter decided it was too far away from home and didn't apply there in the end. What a nice problem for you to have though! You have some great options.

Nottingham is definitely more practical from day one compared to Liverpool not sure about Surrey though..

Yes this was what my friend was telling me. I don’t know about Surrey either! It’s relatively
New so I don’t know any people who go there

im in the same boat between notts and liverpool, what i dont understand is saying its more practical sounds amazing on paper but they have to get though the same amount of content in pretty much the same amount of time, so is it really that much more and will it be more overall or just more intergrated?

problem is i love the sound of notts course but love liverpool as a place sb looks lovely but isolated which worries me slightly with such an intense course!

I mean yeah I think there are pros and cons to both I guess it’s down to personal preference
