Interview coming up for MSc Nursing Studies (Adult) – any top tips?

Hi everyone,

I’ve got an interview in a few weeks for the MSc Nursing Studies (Adult) programme, and I’m starting to prepare properly.

I’m expecting questions around things like the 6 C’s, my motivation for nursing, and possibly values-based practice. I’m revising those areas, but I’d really appreciate any additional advice from people who’ve been through it.

What kinds of questions surprised you?

Did you have any scenario-based or ethical questions?

Any tips for structuring answers effectively?

Things you wish you’d known beforehand?

I’m especially keen to know what helped you stand out.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Research around holistic care as that is super important. Also ensuring all care is evidence-based.
Research around the NMC code & NMC proficiencies.

You will probably get something around what is your biggest challenge going to be while at university- I said time management as I have 2 children.

Look into critical thinking & it’s reflection in it, professional accountability, EBP, logistics in current pressures & adult specific issues. You’d get scenario questions just as you do in BSC interviews but they’d assess you based on transferable skills & your critical thinking. Ofcourse link back to professional values, patient safety, escalation measures… Simply put, be more reflective than descriptive.
