I got a Durham offer earlier this week, and just received the email link to the portal where I have to rank my college preferences. I’m not planning on putting Durham as either my firm or insurance however, but should I still do the ranking?
I have applied to Durham (still waiting to hear back) but I probably wont firm or insurance it so i'm not planning on doing the ranking, its random ballot at the end of the waiting period so if you change your mind you can do it later.

Hi there!
Regardless of if you firm Durham or not, you will be asked to rank your college preferences and will receive a preliminary allocation. It wouldn't do any harm to rank them, however if you are certain that Durham won't make up either of your choices, I probably wouldn't worry about it. 😊
Failing to rank them will simply result in an automated allocation, which is not going to matter if you are declining the offer.
