Hearing back from Uni for Fine Art

I sent my ucas application on the 14th and all my portfolios in the last week of Jan. I’ve heard back from Newcastle (interview next week) and UAL (conditional offer), I’m just awaiting to hear back from UCL, Kingston and Goldsmiths. Does anyone know how long or so it’ll take/has anyone heard back in regards to Fine Art at these unis yet?

Idk about most of them but for UCL, they start interviews around the 16th of march so you will most likely hear back from the end of feb to that point. At least that's what I've seen from conversations from last year. Also when did you hear back from newcastle?

Ahh thank you! I heard back on the 10th Feb and was sent a link to book my interview and picked to have it on Tuesday this week as that was the earliest they had available

hi,

That’s actually quite normal for Fine Art, especially with portfolios involved. You only sent everything off in the last week of Jan so it hasn’t been that long in admissions terms. Art courses usually take more time because tutors go through portfolios properly rather than just grades.

It’s a really good sign you’ve already got an interview from Newcastle and an offer from UAL, that shows your work is strong. UCL, Kingston and Goldsmiths can take a bit longer, especially as they get a high volume of portfolio submissions.

Emailing them would be a good start if you want to hear your applications status, i wouldn’t worry as going through portfolios takes a lot longer then most normal applications. it being silent doesn’t mean you’ve been rejected or anything it just means nothings been set in stone yet.

Goodluck and i wish you the best!

Hi @reannef

Great to hear you have applied to Kingston! If you have any questions feel free to ask

It usually takes around two weeks to hear back, however it can be a really busy time for admissions so there may be delays.

If you do want to reach out here are some useful contact links
Admissions enquire - https://www.kingston.ac.uk/enquire/undergraduate-ksa/

I hope this helps and good luck!

Hiya, Ive applied for Fine Art for Newcastle, Lboro, Oxford Brookes, UCL and Southampton.

I still haven't heard anything from UCL or Newcastle but hearing that you have heard from NCL has given me some hope I might soon ! But to ease you a bit I haven't heard back from UCL yet either aha

Apparently this time last year people started hearing back from UCL! So next week might be the week we hear about people getting interviews!

Hi. My daughter applied for Newcastle’s Fine Art and had an interview 5 weeks ago. However she hasn’t heard anything back yet. Should we be concerned or chase up? Or just leave it for now?

I had my interview with NCL and they said I’d hear back in a couple of week, so I’m still waiting and I’ve seen other people have been starting to get interviews with UCL but I’ve yet to hear back

Hiii! Mine was around 3 weeks ago and I’m still waiting, I think you can get in touch with admissions to ask for an update but I’m trying to just wait for them, I think they’re still going through interviews etc so it might just be a lil longer til they make their decisions
