Oxford Academic Futures Scholarship 2026/27

Hi

I’ve noticed there isn’t a thread yet for this year’s scholarship. Let’s start one here to share updates and any important information for the 2026 entry!

Hi! I am hoping to secure this for my DPhil offer - I would be eligible for the BAF. Does anyone know when offers are usually sent out?

Hi

For the Academic futures scholarships, June would be the latest deadline before you hear back from them. If you haven't received your offer yet (presuming your application's deadline was the January/end of January deadline) then you won't be sent a form until end of March/early April (earliest). This is for RAF "if you are eligible but did not complete the question on your course application about refugee/displaced status then you can still email us by 15th March 2026 to confirm that you wish to apply." So I presume no forms will be sent out before 15 March.

Hi guys, I received an email this morning saying I am being considered for British-Bangladeshi Academic Futures award. It said in the email the latest to hear back was the end of June. But I am not sure wether that is the case for all the strands. Does anyone know if there is a separate application for this, the email didn't mention any extra forms etc?

I think that's just for the other scholarships - the refugee and care-experienced awards. For the Black, British-Bangladeshi and British-Pakistani strands you are automatically considered for and don't require further applications - as stated on the website: https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate/fees-and-funding/fees-funding-and-scholarship-search/academic-futures

I also applied to this stream and recieved an email today confirming they had recieved my application. See below.

"This is an email to confirm that your application form for the Care-Experienced Academic Futures scholarship has been received.

Selection
Selection decisions taken by the University of Oxford relating to these scholarships will consider the information you have provided on the scholarship application form and your graduate application form including the supporting materials supplied by you and your referees in application to your course. The decision of the selection panel is final.

Outcomes
We expect to be able to notify successful applicants by the end of June. All applicants will be notified of their outcome by the end of June, subject to any reserve awards being made.

Please note there is nothing further for you to do at this stage."

Out of curiosity, what sort of deadline was given to complete the application forms for the Refugee and Care-Experienced awards? A month?
