Has anyone had offer from Durham university for economics 2026 yet

Just wondering if I should have heard by now. Applies before Christmas and had offers back from all other Unis. Applied for 2 courses: Economics and Finance

Hi there,

I completely understand how nerve-wracking it can be waiting for a response. Offers from Durham will be coming through up until May time, so don't worry about the potential delay - when I applied, I didn't get an offer until the middle of March, despite hearing about others who had.

Durham has a holistic process in considering applications, hence why it can take a while, especially in busier periods like now - the admissions team is working hard to ensure all applications are considered fairly and thoroughly. By no means does thissuggest you're any less likely to receive an offer, simply just that response times might be a bit delayed. 😊

My son got his Econ offer on Friday. Home. Non contextual. A*AA. (Predicted triple star).
Had previously heard Durham will only ever offer for one course. The other will be an automatic rejection. Not sure if that’s true or not but don’t actually know anyone who got two offers from Durham. Exeter do offer multiples to same person though.

Hi there!

When I submitted my application, I applied for Psychology and also Behavioural Science and got an offer for both. It is probably unlikely to get two offers, but definitely not just an automatic rejection. :smile:

Do you need to write 2 personal statements? Because I’m thinking to apply to 2 courses at durham next year xx

Hi!

I didn’t write 2 as the courses I applied for were very similar. I had applied for other courses outside of Psychology though, and had different personal statements for these. I had one uploaded onto UCAS and then I added another as a supporting document. 😊

Hello,

If I remember correctly, I think I added it onto the university portal once I submitted my application. It might be a good idea to check with universities if they’ll accept another personal statement, as I’m not sure all universities will have this section in the portal - if not, I’m sure they could advise you on what to do next. 🙂

Have you achieved high GCSEs? My GCSEs are quite average/low so I’m quite worried because they’re competitive courses 😭

Hi,

My GCSEs were 9,9,8,7,7,6,6,5,5, L2D*. 😊 I definitely didn’t do as well as others on my cohort, but it worked out fine for me!

What course is it you’re looking to apply for?

I recieved my Economics Bsc offer at the beginning of Feb ish, but i applied the end of November, quite a bit before the deadline, I'm sure they'll respond back soon enough for you, dont worry!
