Swansea For Mature Students

I’m considering returning to university at 26 and am considering going to Swansea University. Does anyone who has been to this uni know what it’s like for mature students? Are there many mature students at Swansea and do they still have much of a social life? Thanks!
@Swansea Students, would you be able to advise this person?

I’m a Swansea University student myself, and I wanted to share my experience as someone who started university a bit later than most.
There are plenty of mature students at Swansea, and you definitely won’t feel like the odd one out. The university is very welcoming, and you’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds across different courses. I’ve met other mature students in seminars, through societies, and via part-time jobs on campus.
In terms of social life, it really depends on what you want from it. There’s a strong student community with lots of events, sports clubs, societies, and social spaces through the Students’ Union and Campus Life. Many mature students get involved in activities that match their interests, so you can be social without feeling pressure to go out all the time. There’s also plenty of scope for quieter, more low-key socialising.
If you’re worried about fitting in, you won’t be alone in feeling that way at first. Most people are friendly and open. Being a mature student can actually be an advantage as you often come in with more confidence and a clearer sense of what you want from your time at university.
Happy to answer any specific questions you might have.
Best wishes
