Durham English Lit results day flexibility

Hi. What are my chances of still being accepted to Durham English Lit on results day with a dropped grade? And does anyone know if English Lit was in clearing last year? Int'l fees for both questions. Thanks!

Hi there!

It's difficult to give a definite answer - dropping a grade on results day means your acceptance is not guaranteed but still possible. If the course is oversubscribed, it may be more likely that offers will be strictly met, but if a large portion of students miss the grades, there might be some flexibility. 😊

I'm not sure if English Literature was in clearing last year, though generally getting an offer at Durham through clearing is highly competitive - if you think this is the route you might take, I'd try to ensure you're as prepared as can be, to secure a spot. You can read about a past student's experience of getting into Durham through clearing here: https://durham-student.org/from-rejection-to-the-right-decision-my-experience-of-clearing/.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!
