Hi there!

I studied at Sussex for a year (2024-25) and I really enjoyed it! I only left because my career aspirations changed, and they don't offer the course I would like to study.

What course are you applying for?

Hello! Sorry for replying so late! I would love to hear about your experiences thank you so so much!
I'm applying for ecology and conservation!
Also, I just wanted to ask if it's ok how the social life is? Online I have seen a lot of videos saying how hard it is to make friends at Uni of Sussex, and I'm really worried I won't find my people. How was your experience if you don't mind me asking?
And what course did you do? I'd love to hear about how you found it and the atmosphere.
Thank you!!!

You will share a lot of modules and lectures with biology students

I didn't find it that difficult to make friends at Sussex because I followed my interests. I had a preference of where I sat in lecture theatres which meant I often sat with the same people, which helped me make friends. I was a member of the symphony orchestra and the first aid society where I met some friends. I made my closest friends at the University of Brighton's first aid society because Sussex didn't initially have one, and that also prompted me to join St John Ambulance, where I have also met some lovely people!

I'm not saying you have to do this, I think it is just an example of how you can make friends if you have niche interests and are not necessarily interested in going out. As for the more traditional social life, I haven't a clue because I only went out on a couple of occasions, both with the first aid society
