Can I transfer Uni for my 2nd or 3rd year uni?

I am a Occupational therapy student and recently failed my resit by 7 marks for one of the modules from 2nd year that I resat in 3rd year. The university has asked me to withdraw but I am doing my appeal at the moment stating mental health issues, collision of placement and the resit which meant I could not perform well and financial issues. I also have completed my all placements and passed all the other modules apart from the 3rd year ones like dissertation. However, I would like some advice on whether I could just transfer to another uni to redo my second and/or final year and complete the OT degree or would I have to start again from first year at another university? I am also considering if I should do a degree apprenticeship instead. I would be very grateful for any advice on which options would be best and if Student loan would be affected.

Thankyou.

Hey, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I’m a student at Swansea University and have been here for the last four years, and I’ve also worked with the Admissions team in the recent past. They’re genuinely very helpful.. From what I know, transferring to another university is possible, but it is always subject to an interim transcript evaluation by the university you are applying to. They decide whether to accept a student into second or third year based on how closely the completed modules match their course, as well as whether there is a vacancy on the programme. It isn’t guaranteed, but it does happen. If you’re considering this option and want clear guidance, the best next step is to contact the Admissions team directly via the university admissions email. For Swansea University, the email address is [email protected]

Hey, thank you so much for the reply; it has given me hope. I have passed all the placement modules, including the ones from 3rd year, and only failed 1 core module worth 20 credits, so I am in the middle of appealing the result but want to look into different options. I also want to know if this could be covered by student finance because I might have to retake 2nd and/or 3rd year because although I failed the module in 2nd year, I have also finished the first semester of 3rd year successfully, so I am hoping I only have to retake 3rd year so it could be covered under the SFE gift year. If you could give me any advice on whether this is true and if I would potentially have to fund the final year myself and what next steps I could take, I would be very grateful. @Sfe @Mamta26
