Oxford UNIQ+ Graduate scheme 2026

Hi! Thought it would be good to make a thread for applicants to Uniq+ 2026. I saw a similar thread last year and would be nice for people to share a bit about their application:

1st Choice Project: NDORMS 06
Current (or most recent) University: KCL
Course currently studying: Med
Uni Year (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc): 3rd
Predicted/Achieved Grade: Around a 1st based on average
Previous Research Experience: 2 but no publications
Number of Eligibility Criteria Met: 3

Quite nervous as I just sent in my application and I’m not sure what to expect. Felt as though the character counts capped me a lot 😕

First choice project: Psychology 01
Uni previously studied at: redacted for privacy, but it was a non Russel group.
Course studied: bsc psychology
Uni Year (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc): graduated in 2025
Predicted/Achieved Grade: First
Previous Research Experience: 1 (no publication)
Number of Eligibility Criteria Met: 3

I think that my stats are pretty good but I felt super limited by the character limit in the personal statement. I am also worried that I won’t be picked since I have already graduated? Is anyone else in the same boat or know of anyone who got onto the internship after already graduating?

same here! Not only the character count, but the whole time I was thinking- how can I make my application stand out and how can I make it more competitive, because a lot of people will say things along the same lines. Applying to this program is not easy but I really want my first choice project! (Chemistry 01). Good luck to us all :smile:

I do hope you get in, but based on the eligibility criteria, I think you are every much eligible 🙂 There is a clear indication that those who have graduated can take part, as long as you haven't previously done a research internship with a research group. Also please do look into NIHR applications, they close on 27 Feb and I'm pretty sure It is somewhat related to psychology.

Today I was informed that my application has been moved to the academics, so I presume we are now in the second stage of the application process

I found out how many people had applied in previous years and I thought it would be useful to put it in this thread. You can access it here.

For anyone interested, it looks like 615 people applied in 2024 and 123 were accepted. My guess is that about 1 in 6 of us will get in this year, which is actually better odds than I expected. Hopefully we are all only in competition with five other applicants.

Course currently studying: Biochemistry
Uni Year: Third
Predicted/Achieved Grade: 1st

I have applied to other research internships within uni and external organisations(e.g. royal society of chemistry). Also applied to normal internships but have had no luck getting to the interview stage for those ones.
