I have applied to study dentistry in cluj-napoca university Romania in sep 2026. Is there any students from uk that are considering going there and if you have an idea if there is a community for students from uk

Hello, my daughter is also applying for dentistry at Cluj-Napoca. I believe the admission portal is opening on the 24th March. Are there other universities you are considering in Romania or elsewhere and if yes, which ones ? are you clear about all the requirements concerning the documents that need to be provided ? I have some hesitations for some of them. Would it be ok to exchange with you on this topic ? Thank you, Myriam.

Hi Myriam,
After researching there is not a lit if students from uk that go to cluj. And i personally prefered that the bigger the uk students community the more they will feel home. So, me and my daughter decided to switch to Bulgaria in the university of Plovdiv. The majority of international students there are from uk. So i made sense to us to switch. I don’t know if this helps

Also, in terms of doc for cluj, we are using an agent that is guiding us (medconnect) but now as mentioned previously changed so we are waiting from the agency to guide us in terms of what paperwork work is needed for Plovdiv.if you do decide to apply for cluj, from what I recall you need the following;
Passport
Letter from your school
Psychological test done online
A letter from the doctor
Personal statement
Not sure i think DBS as well

If you do get accepted you have 4 days to pay the uni fees and then to apply for a type D visa (students) otherwise you can not apply for the visa if not accepted. Other doc needed for the visa is health insurance, proof of funds at least for the first year living cost, proof of acceptance, the passport need to be valid for more than 18months (guidelines in the Romania embassy)
