Hi.

You have a very strong chance of being accepted into LAE. Your predicted grades are very high and being predicted a 6 in Music is absolutely fine, they do not expect candidates to be achieving all 9s. I know many LAE students whose GPA (grade point average) aren’t that high, but got in because they met the entry requirements for the subjects they applied for.

I will say that it is definitely a competitive school and you are right in saying that people who get all 9s may still not be able to get in. This can be due to many factors, for example, the oversubscription criteria. Top sixth forms tend to prioritise students first who are looked after, have free school meals, their catchment area, then finally their grades.

thank you so much for taking the time to reply 🧡
this is so reassuring, thank youu!

i am still fairly worried because ive heard of students with better grades than me not being accepted, but Ive come to terms with the fact that i might not get in. i live an hour away by train and i dont apply to their oversubscription criteria, but all i can do now is hope for the best 😞

No problem! Exactly, you have submitted your application now and all you can do is hope you get an offer.
Also, they are going to focus on the subjects that you have applied to, meaning they will focus on GCSE English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, which you are predicted a 998 in. For Psychology, they will look at your English Language result, which is also predicted a 9. This places you with higher priority.

Hello.I have also applied to LAE Stratford and I live in south east london.
My predicted is:
Maths-8
English lang-8
English lit-9
Bio-9Chem-9
Physics-9
Re-9
Business-9
History-7
Average point score of best 8- 8.75
I was wondering if this the average grade point for those applying.I was also curious how important location is as I am aware that is considered in conditional offers and I know a majority of those applying live in east london, who are closer to the school. Is location more important than grades in some instances? Thank you for responding if you do.
