Veterinary work experience

Hiii, for vets or undergraduates who had done a bunch of work experience, is there any virtual veterinary work experience that you would recommend? Also why decided on vet med, what’s your motivation?

Virtual Vet work experience? I did not come across any and I would not take it even if they pay me (I wouldn't pay a penny). Motivation for me to do Vet med is I am passionate about animals and love to care for them.

I believe Nottingham accept this free MOOC as up to 2 weeks of work experience? You may want to double check with admissions rather than take my word for it. It was made for applicants during COVID but it is still listed on their work experience page.

As another person said do not pay for any. The nottingham one is free and will be considered at some universities but not all.
I would not reccomend applying if you haven't spent time at a vet clinic. It is hard to get—most practices only seem to take vet students now (post covid) that being said where I did my work experience they also were only taking vet students. Get to know the team ie go in person or go to your pets next appointment and ask the vet. You'll be more likely to get some.
When you do, get stuck in! Offer to help (cleaning the consult table and getting more dog/cat treats are easy basic ones to start with) and ask questions after the consults. If you show you're keen they will involve you and the experience will be far more useful. Vets also know everyone and if think you are keen they will go above and beyond to help you with other connections for expericenes.

Good luck happy to answer any other questions you have just lmk.
