Deferring a module
Hi
I have had to defer a couple of modules however one I have now had to defer twice. While I should be able to get at least one submitted I am not sure I will be able to catch up with both this term plus other ongoing work and my new module. I wanted to find out whether there was a limit on the number of times I can defer a module? I have health issues which flair up so I may be able to get both done however this relies on there not being another relapse.

Hi there,
The deferral process works by delaying your submission/module to the next assessment period - there are 3 assessment periods per academic year ( December, April, and summer). To pass the year and enroll into the next year it's my belief you must have passed all the modules from the previous academic year, therefore if you deferred a module in December you could defer it twice (December and April) and then your last chance for that year would be submission in the summer term. However, if you deferred it in April you could only defer once as your next assessment period (summer) would be the last opportunity.
If you deferred again in summer you may have to repeat the year or just repeat that module within the next year period (therefore delaying your enrolment into the next teaching year by another year).
