Is it possible to go from an E to A in Biology and Chemistry?

I've currently gotten an E in my January mocks, but I need to get an A in bio and chem as I wanna study medicine. Has anyone else managed to transform their grades like this? My teachers insist they've never seen anyone make a massive jump, but I'm more than willing to put in the work. I've been doing 5 hours daily throughout all of February, but I'm still very bummed. I'm in Y12, and my next mocks are in June

@deerkissed444

yess! well, something like that. i went from a D to a B, and that was D's throughout y12, and y13, even in my mocks 2 months before my actual a level. stressful time that one was😅, it was so amazing to see that b on results day.

put in that work (past papers and mark scheme memorisation) and you will be rewarded. certainly possible. as you are in year 12, by the time you do your a levels i'm sure you will have an a.

good luck! and let me know if there's any more questions

Hey @deerkissed444,

It is quite the jump, but it's definitely possible with consistent and focused revision. How much progress do you think you've made throughout February? Do you feel like you have a better understanding of the topics you've covered so far?

Past paper questions (and mark schemes) are a great revision tool, but I'd recommend focusing on learning the content within each topic first so you can use past papers to your full advantage (e.g. closed book, timed past papers that can act as mini mocks).

Remember to take regular breaks and set aside time for hobbies and just chilling out (watching TV, going on your phone). 5 hours of revision a day is a lot, and whilst you do want to improve your Bio and Chem grades, you also don't want to feel burn-out.

Best of luck with your revision,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
