Aspiring Undergraduate Med School Student requesting advice

I am 20 yrs old. I have no GCSE's and no A-Levels as i didn't sit them due to some personal matters. I am really wanting to go to med school, it is what I have my heart set on. I am currently working 48hrs a week in a 4on - 4off shift pattern, I am currently studying to sit my GCSE's and A-levels and have allocated 8-12hrs per day of the 4 days off. I want to get into med school as soon as possible really. Would I be naive to think that I am able to get good scores on 6 GCSE's along with my A-levels scores being Min. AAB Chem, Bio and Physics all within 14mths? I guess the real question I am asking is should I have my eyes set on a possible entry to med school in the year 2028 rather than banking on getting good results from my GCSE's and A-Levels, gaining relevant work experience and studying for ucat all within 14 months for a entry to med school in 2027?

Just to add - my parents moved me around alot during secondary school which led to me being homeschooled which also resulted in me not really do much work academically. I have a good standard level of understanding when it comes to things like biology, physics, maths and english but realistically not up to a GCSE Level which is why I am insistent on dedicating as much time as possible to studies.

Not rlly sure why 14 months is the time frame. Also unis usually ask for at least AAA except for the few that are rlly competitive asking for AAB but u could try foundation year courses (lower grade requirements). Make sure u do rlly well in UCAT. Also some unis might need more than 6 GCSEs in the 7-9 range med’s rlly rlly competitive. It would help to look at the scoring for some unis some weight UCAT more heavily than others. U might also have to keep contextual offers in mind. Good luck mate

Access course would be better for you. You need to email admissions teams of your chose medical schools and see if they want you to complete GCSEs or not and if so, which ones and which grades as it would mean doing them privately. There is often help for mature students who need to sit GCSEs.

It will be a very tough slog to complete an Access course at an appropriate standard working 48 hours a week.
