What is the University of Warwick like for lesbians, and LGBTQ students, like?

I'm really struggling to choose between Warwick and Manchester as my firm for this September, they both have an equal number of pros and cons. That's why I think the experience for queer women is going to be a heavy decider, I know Manchester in general is a lively queer city, but apart from some of the Warwick pride societies I haven't heard much about the queer scene or experience there. That includes the town/city around it, though I doubt Coventry will have anything. I'd like to know how safe and open I can be at Warwick as a lesbian, and of course how fun it can be? I haven't really seen anything from lesbian Warwick students in my searches. Any insight and advice will be really appreciated!

Hi! I’m at Warwick, not a lesbian but a few of my friends are. On a normal night out it would be unusual not to see lesbians getting together in the club tbh. There is also a semi-regular LGBTQ+ club night called euphoria by warwickpride which is super popular along with lots of other events throughout the year. I’d say you’d be completely safe and open, and that there are lots of opportunities to meet other lesbians etc. if you wanted to. You’d actually be surprised about how much is going on in leamington and Coventry to be honest. Don’t judge a book by its cover!!
