Student accommodation at 25yr F
Hi I’m a 25yr F will be starting my first year in uni in September for social work. Iv done all my interviews and have got offers from all of them but I’m leaning more into edge hill university. I feel like I’m too old for student accommodation but I want to get the full uni experience and also live alone as Iv never been in my own before. I wanted to know is anyone my age thinking of doing student comms??

Hey, I will be starting a PGCE in Edgehill in September and I’m wondering the same thing! I’m also 25 and not sure where I’m going to live.. I wonder if there is accommodation that is better suited to mature students

Hello, also got Edge Hill & Man Met offers for Social Work, Salford interview is next week (how was it?) Also really struggling which to choose, so hard isn't it?

Congratulations on your offer!
Deciding whether to move away for university, and whether to live on or off campus during your studies can be a tough decision. We do have some information about living off-campus which you can take a look at here.
We would also encourage you to reach out to our accommodation team, as they may be able to offer advice on living on campus and they may also be able to look at options of placing you with students in similar positions to yourself.

If you haven't yet been to an Offer Holder Day with us, you may wish to come along to one of our remaining days. On the day, you will be able to take a look at our accommodation, and also speak to the team in person should you wish to. I got offers for Salford, Chester and edge hill those where my top 3. But I’m going to go with edge hill. With student accommodation with what iv been seeing Salford is pretty expensive. Iv decided to stay at home now so once I finish uni and can get my own place. Edge looks amazing and during my interview the lecturers where really lovely and Made me want to go there more. If u do pick edge hill let me now I’m going to a holders day on the 18/04/2026 x

I got offers for Chester, edge hill, Salford. I did pick criminal justice at St Helens university because I want to go into probation social work and sociology and criminology at university of Liverpool. But thinking I’m picking edge hill. I’m going to an offers holding day on the 18/04/2026 x

Firstly, Congratulations on all your offers! 🤗 As you're considering social work, Salford is definitely worth a look. The course has a real emphasis on combining both theory and practicality, meaning the content can be really varied and hands-on. The university puts a big focus on practical experience alongside the academic side, which is really important for social work.
You have some great offers from other institutions too! So it really comes down to what environment you prefer and where you feel you'd get the most out of. If you get a chance, I really recommend visiting the universities, especially during offer holder days. It's a great way to get a real feel for the campus, and learn more about the course.
