Which Film Production course?
Hi,
I can't decide which courses to choose as my first and second options for Film Production - does anyone have any advice?:
1. AUB (reasonable chance at getting grades)
2. Salford Uni (unconditional)
3. Leeds Beckett (unconditional)
I think I want to put AUB first, but I haven't visited Leeds yet. I like Salford, but I'm looking for a practical course rather than too many written assessments. I like AUB because of their facilities, Funding Futures/industry links, and location (I like nature, hiking and camping). But I also want good links with industry so that I can build up my professional experience.

We’ve had some major film successes lately from film alumni. Lars Thomas Skare worked as First AD on ‘Sentimental Value’ which won Best Film Not in the English Language at the 2026 BAFTAS last Sunday and is up for nine Academy Awards in March! 🏆
We recently spoke with James Rigby who, since graduating in 2024, has worked multiple roles and is now exploring his passion with videography – it’s a great story that highlights the possibilities of where your creative practice might end up after graduating from AUB.

You also mentioned industry links. During your studies you’ll have access to AUB Futures who actively showcase current creative roles on their Instagram page, including Iive briefs from external clients – they’ll provide you with careers support up to three years after you graduate. We also have Industry Patrons across our courses who share their experience and new insights into the industry. For Film Production, this is award-winning director Nick Rowland.
We’d also highly recommend visiting us at one of our summer Open Days or Campus Tours if you haven’t already.
