Which universities in the UK accept my A level grades for maths?

I got BBCC in my A levels (maths physics fmaths and chemistry) and I want to get a BSc in mathematics. Which universities in the UK will accept these grades? And are also quite cheap for international students?

I am currently eyeing the university of essex, although I do not know how good their mathematics department is.

My goal is to be able to get my master's or phd at a highly ranked institution in the world.

Hi!! i dont know very much since i am still just in year 13 but i am also applying for maths so have done a bit of research.
I know exeter is supposed to be quite good for maths, plus the campus looks gorgeous and is in quite a pretty area though it might be a bit expensive (i was gonna apply here too but instead decided on applying to lancaster).
I think Liverpool John-Moores accpets BBC for their BSc maths degree, liverpool is a really nice student city - i live quite near to it and it has loads of shops and restaurants as well as having really good transport links.
I am not too sure about other places but maybe look at places like Uni of Hull, Uni of reading, and uni of leicester as i think they might take BBC too )

Use the filters on UCAS search to add your UCAS points total - you will then get a list of courses where you meet the entry requirements:

Exeter on their website states ABC for the contextual offer, I have BBCC. How good of a uni is john moores for post grad application?

University of leicester states "A/AS-levels: ABB including Maths. Two AS-levels considered in place of one A-level" but they also say they have flexible entry requirements but don't mention exact grades.

Also keep in mind I'm an international student, so i don't know what their contextual offer guidelines are suggesting.

Hi @batmanbegins2005 👋

It is great to hear that you are interested in the University of Essex! 💜

Our Mathematics department is ranked 6th in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2026) and ranked 1st for student positivity in Statistics (NSS 2025).

To find out more about the course and our university, click here: https://www.essex.ac.uk/courses/UG00269/1/BSc-Mathematics

A good piece of advice is to visit us on our Open Day where you will have the opportunity to visit our campus, talk to the mathematics department and feel the spirit of Essex! To register for one of our Open Days you can click this link: https://www.essex.ac.uk/forms/register-for-an-open-day

If you have any questions, please let me know 😊

Hi, I would advise making a list of your desired universities to study at and then have a look at tuition fees via their official website and subject requirements.
