Regret A level options

I am currently half way through year 12 and I really regret picking A level politics. I find the content incredibly boring and it is taught quite poorly by my teachers. I also find it difficult to keep with with recent examples since I dislike the subject so much meaning in terms of understanding I am quite far behind the rest of my class. My other a levels are Maths and English literature both of which I really enjoy especially maths. I achieved nines in GCSE triple science and I regret not picking one alongside my options as now I am stuck doing a subject I dont like and I am limited in regards to university options. Does anyone have any advice?

Would you consider repeating year 12? Try to speak to your head of year or head of sixth form to discuss you options. It's a bit late in the year to change subjects but see what they say.

What would you like to study at uni?

My school had a HOY/Head of Sixth Form. We were able to chat to her and that would sometimes mean some people switched A Levels (they had to catch up the work especially over the holidays, support from the teachers was there). Had someone do that switching from RS to Biology and coming out with an A*. Speak to the staff at your college/school and they should be able to help

Im unsure at the moment. Since I enjoy maths I am leaning towards economics / finance but im not sure how possible this is without FM.

Just wanted to point out that a lot of good econ courses don't require FM. It's helpful, sure, but plenty of people succeed without it - friend of mine started his econ degree at Bristol this year (he didn't do FM) and he seems to be doing fine.

Edit: just checked, and I can't find any unis in the UK that explicitly require FM for economics. That being said, for the very top tier of unis (Cambridge, LSE, etc) it's pretty rare to get in without FM so I guess that may be something to keep in mind.

I agree. It may be too late to change subjects, but would it be worth sticking psychology out until the end of year 12. Then starting a new a-level in year 13. Would have to do an extra year though.
