S6 choices

I have to decide what it is I’m picking for s6 by the 25th of February and I feel completely stuck on what to pick for my fourth choice.

In my prelims I got straight A’s with subjects English, maths, geography, human biology and music. However, next year I’m only taking adv higher English and adv music. I will also be taking higher mods as a crash higher (my school makes you take 4 subjects in s6 if u don’t take 3 advanced highers - hence why I’m not sure what to take).

I’m wanting to study Scot’s law at uni and my teachers were saying that highers could be better than advanced highers for it.

I was thinking about doing crash higher business as my friends that gave taken it says it’s literally just memorizing things however I’m worried about how much knowledge of Nat 5 is needed.

If anyone has any suggestions for subjects it would be greatly appreciated

Pick what you might need if you were going to university after leaving school so you have your requirements for the court you want to do - yeah I noticed it law you want to do so how about history perhaps or a language.

Have you done your research on what requirements you need for law and then pinch your choice from that.

Below is the university requirements for law in Scotland so look at that and pick what you are confident enough in doing okay.

Undergraduate Law (LLB) in Scotland generally requires AAAAB–AAAAA in SQA Highers by the end of S5/S6, or AAB–AAA at A-Level, often requiring English at grade B. Top universities (e.g., Edinburgh, Glasgow) may require the LNAT admission test and often prefer applicants with strong essay-based subjects, like History or Modern Studies.

Academic Requirements for Undergraduate (4-Year LLB)
SQA Highers: Typically AAAAB or AAAAA (often required by end of S5 or S6).
A-Levels: Generally AAB to AAA, often with a required B in English.
IB: 34–38 points (often requiring 6,6,6 at Higher Level).
Essential Subjects: Highers/A-Level English is usually mandatory. Other preferred subjects include History, Modern Studies, Sociology, or languages.

if you want to do law, it’s best to do essay based subjects, doing higher history is rlly good and languages aswell are very valued and u can do a joint degree with a language. i think most of the unis in scotland for law want more highers than advanced highers, for law at glasgow i know they want an advanced higher humanities subject for 2026 entry, definitely choosing essay based subjects like modies and history are your best bet.
