Should I choose homeschooling for my gcses

Hi. So for context I’m currently in year ten and I’ve had attendance issues due to my mental health for a long time. This year my attendance is currently 44% and it’s probably gonna get worse. I’ve been given the option to leave school and do homeschool/online school instead. I would really like to do this as right now I barely go to school and I’m not learning anything but I’m really worried that I might regret it. One of my biggest worries is losing my friends, as they already say we are growing apart because of my attendance. Is there anyone who chose homeschooling who can give me advice or anyone who can give advice on what they think I should do?

Hi, hope you’re doing well 🙂 I personally think homeschooling would be a good option, as my cousin did it for the same reason and really enjoyed it. tbh I think years 10–11 were the best years of secondary school, so leaving might mean missing out on prom, leavers day, etc. but I know that’s different for everyone.
As for your friends, you can still see them outside school. I get that it’s not the same as being in class together. I’d say prioritise your education, homeschooling could help with attendance and learning.
