Cuddling friends while watching a film?

hey everyone
just wondering whether people would cuddle (i.e. arm around you or whatever) friends of the opposite sex while watching a film? What circumstances would you, or wouldn't you?

I was having a debate with my boyfriend last night about it. My argument was that he wouldn't like me to do it with my male friends so it's not completely innocent. I don't know, it's just odd for me to think about it cos I was in an all girls' school for 7 years.

Do you think it's innocent? Or is there something behind it?

i'd be pissed

If you do that it shows affection and shows you want to go further than friendship. Don't do it unless you like the person imo!

Umm i personally think its a bit odd. Its not as though youd put your arm around a friend of the same sex? Well, a guy definatly wouldnt (unless wasted). Then again i have quite a "touchy feely" sort of friend where she will have her arm around a guy or whatever and its completely meaningless..guess it depends. I just know if i was in a relationship i wouldnt be comfortable with someone having their arm around my gf during a movie.

I wouldn't be happy. I trust my boyfriend 100% and don't mind about his girl friends but putting his arm around someone is stepping the line.

I'd be a little miffed if my boyfriend told me he'd been cuddling another girl while they were watching a film.

That's rubbish, surely. I cuddle my male friends occasionally when we're watching films, doesn't mean I like them.

I do that with my best friend, because we are VERY close. Couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else I didn't fancy.

I do it, and I don't mind when any partner does it.
I would use the example that i'd do it with my female friends but i swing both ways so I don't think I can. I cuddle up with my brothers when we watch movies and i'm certainly not sexually attracted to them. nothing in it.

i'm quite an affectionate person and as long as it's not out of character for your other half then I wouldn't worry. if you're worrying about a simple cuddle then you have some trust issues that need working on imo.

edit: when I say 'you' I don't mean you op, I mean people in general.

I wouldn't want to get that close with someone I didn't fancy, would be too awkward...

me and Friederike also reckon it's not OK.

So did he actuallycuddle one of his friends and if so how do you know?

Reply 15

Only if you were pretty close friends.

Hope you had a good Christmas Kathryn

Oh noo, this isn't about him doing it currently, just about him doing it while he was single lol.
So basically, it's okay for single people to do it but not for people in relationships?
Why, if you're just friends?

Lol, what!? OK so, I'm over at a friends/friends are over at mine... we're all squashed onto one sofa or getting shoved onto the floor... a male friend puts his arm around me/I put my head on his shoulder.... wow, big deal, it's not like we want to shag or anything. I didn't know so many people had a problem with it! It's totally innocent and we've known each other for years.

close friends I would yeah, but not if my bf was in the room as he'd get annoyed.
Im a cuddly person though and so are alot of my friends. Aslong as we know its only a cuddle i cant see the problem!
