I was replying to this:

She seemed to think that she had those views because she went to an all girls school. I went to an all girls school and do not share these views.

Excuse me? What views do I have exactly? I was merely saying that I was confused because I'd never been that close to someone of the opposite sex as I went to an all girls school, so wasn't sure if it was right or not.

Well, you said you had a 'debate'. A debate usually consists of two or more opposing viewpoints, and so you had a view that:

My argument was that he wouldn't like me to do it with my male friends so it's not completely innocent. I don't know, it's just odd for me to think about it cos I was in an all girls' school for 7 years.

I said that I went to an all girls school and yea, it is weird. and then someone jumped down my throat and said that I have no authority. SO I said no, I was just replying to your viewpoint, also stating that you went to an all girls school.

Yes, so obviously I was of the opinion that I don't think its right, which is the same as yours, no?

Yes.

I don't see the problem myself.

Just pointing out that we do share the same views...

I think you may have over reacted to my post.

you had the same opinion as her, so the way it was written was like you were saying that under no circumstances is it ever innocent for anyone. had you had a different opinion I'd have read it differently (probably as you intended it)

I was friends with a guy who really liked me but I did not find him attractive so there was no way I was willing to lead him on, I save my cuddles for my partner as I think they are intimate

If you do that it shows affection and shows you want to go further than friendship. Don't do it unless you like the person imo!

I don't think I'd have a problem with having an arm around me or, or even putting an arm around someone myself: I am a very tactile person. Of course, it depends how good the friend is .

I've been in this situation and all i can say is look at Beyonce "if i were a boy" says it all and it is very hurtful however "innocent" anyone says it is.you just don't do that if you respect and love a person.

I'd only put my arm/want my boyfriends arm around me while watching a film.

I wouldn't want one of my guy friends arm around me, it would be weird and a lot more than just friendly.

depends, if the dude is a old mate like, you've know them since you were 5 or summit then it innocent.
i mean i sleep at boys houses and we share beds and change in front of each other and it like what ever because we're mates.
if they are a new mate and you've known them for only 3 weeks or summit, then you're out of line.
they're not to be trusted.
another thing is, if you're hugging/ lying on ear other then thats fine but if you're sitting between his legs and he's holding you inappropriately then just SLIDDDEEE to the other side of the sofa/ rug/ seating area.

trust me, i do mixed schools ;D
good luck.
p.s, if the bf doesn't like it, then maybe talk tohim baout it and bring him round to it.
or just dont do it.

That's a good question. I don't have a girlfriend at the moment, but I would probably not approve. However, it can depend on what guy(s) you are cuddling with and your past relationship with them. Personally, I often like to just cuddle up with a girl I know and watch a movie and it is usually innocent. I don't think there SHOULD be anything wrong with it, but I think more times than not, the guy is has a sexual motive, unfortunately.

Not every single form of contact is sexual. I've had hour long cuddles with one of my female friends who I've only known for 3 years. Nothing sexual from them, at least, not from my side, don't know about her :lolwut:

well...I don't know. There is this guy I like and we were sleeping in a minivan in our sleeping bags (long story) with some friends. He slipped his arm around me and carried on talking to the others normally. I'm really confused.......

Any way, if you know these people and they know what it means to you (just friends) then it's probably fine.....but if your buyfriend doesnt like it just don't do it

Friends can just watch movies and chill it’s not that big of a deal

Reply 75

it really depends on the friendship. not all physical contact has to have sexual intentions lol
