Is Biology A-level needed for neuroscience?

I’m predicted AAA but don’t have Biology A-level. Has anyone started Psychology with Neuroscience at Reading without Biology? Was it a challenge, or is it manageable? 😊

Id double check the requirements on the unis websites, to see if they specify biology or not.
If they dont specify that they want biology then you will be fine.

Great predicted results, Aizah!
I checked the entry requirements for Psychology with Neuroscience at Reading and it doesn’t list Biology A‑level as required or essential, even though some related courses do prefer a science A‑level.
Since Biology isn’t specified for this course, it’s safe to assume the programme will teach the necessary biology basics as you go. You might need a bit more self‑study at first, but it’s designed to be accessible for students without a Biology background.

Hope this helps,
Alfred.

it doesn’t specify biology but it does say at least a grade 6 in science at gcse. i got a 6 in bio, 6 in chem and 5 in physics. do you think that’s okay?

That should be ok. If the worst comes to the worst then you could resit physics.
If it doesnt specify biology at a-level then you dont need to do it. Obviously if you want to do it, then do it. But it doesnt matter if you dont.

Hi,

That’s okay, as you obtained the required grades with the science subjects.
