Hi! @hhhqqqq 🙂
Whilst I don't personally study medicine I can give you some information about UEA and its medical school!

UEA's medical programme will give you hands-on experience much earlier than most other medical schools, and I know that medicine students find this helpful as you will be more immersed in the practical side of things. The N&N hospital is very close to UEA so that may help with cost of travel.

In terms of accommodation cost, you can have a look here, this is the UEA accommodation finder which gives you the prices of the different rooms available as well as a tour so you can see what the accommodation is like.

UEA has wonderful student life, and everyone is so welcoming. There are many different clubs and societies you can join, and as UEA is in Norwich, you will be close to a variety of sceneries like beaches, broads etc... (these make for a great day out with friends!!)
UEA is a campus based university so everything that you do need is on campus, but there is easy access to the city centre.

I hope this gives you a flavour of UEA, if you have any specific medicine-related questions, feel free to join UEA's Unibuddy site where you can chat to current students. If you have any other questions, do feel free to ask and I would be more than happy to answer! 🙂
Fatma.

Hi @hhhqqqq,

That’s great to hear you’re considering Edge Hill to study Medicine! Unfortunately I don’t study medicine but I can tell you a little bit about accommodation and student life.

Edge Hill offers a range of accommodation to choose from with options for some slightly newer and more expensive accommodation and some slightly more affordable options. You can find details of the accommodation on the website here including some photos and comparisons between the options. Alternatively, if you visit for an Open Day, Offer Holder Day or Campus Tour you would get a chance to look at some accommodation in person. All of the accommodation is on campus and comes with a communal kitchen and living area. Most accommodation also comes with an en-suite bathroom but Forest Court accommodation also has options for a shared bathroom.

In terms of student life, there’s lots to get involved in across campus! Our student life team hold regular events such as Global Cafe, Get Connected (a variety of on campus events such as games, crafts, etc.), Learn to Cook and trips to places such as Ikea and Blackpool Illuminations. These events are free for all students to attend and a great way to get involved in student life.

There are also lots of societies to get involved with and you can even start your own society if there’s something you’re interested in and there isn’t a society which currently exists for it. Also, there are a lot of sports teams to get involved with and Campus Sport for recreational sports.

As Edge Hill is a campus based university, everything is close by and there’s lots to get involved with on campus. However, there are also quick transport links to Liverpool and Manchester and other places nearby.

If you have any other questions about anything to do with Edge Hill please just let me know!
