Funding for a second BSc degree

Hi there, hope you're well,
I completed a BSc mental health nursing degree in 2012 at London South Bank before tuition fees came in.
I have just been offered a place on BSc Biomedical degree at University of Kent.
Can I get help with tuition fees or any other financial support?
Thanks in advance

Courses in these subject categories are eligible as a full-time exception:
graduate entry medicine and dentistry postgraduate
pre-registration healthcare subjects
allied to medicine
initial teacher training
architecture
veterinary science

Is Biomedical science allied to medicine?
Or Can Biomedical science only be funded as a part-time course?

Hi there,

Biomedical Science isn't a full time exception course but may be part time. Can you confirm when you're hoping to start the course, and how long the course will be, and we can check this for you?

Thanks,
Claire

Hi Claire,
Thanks for providing support.
I have had an offer from the University of Kent for a 3 year course or 4 year including professional experience year for a BSc Biomedical starting Sept 2026 this year.

I also note that the Open University includes both exceptions in their full time and part time Biomedical BSc

It shows as a part time exceptions course at University of Kent for both the 3 year or 4 year course.

OU shows as 3 year course and again shows as part time exceptions.

Thanks,
Claire

Thanks Claire, sorry just to be clear, I thought the Biomedical 3 and 4 year courses are both full time, they don’t offer part time at the university of Kent.

As advised above biomedical science courses full time are not exceptions only if its part time.

Thanks,
Claire
