I’ve applied for Slade (Haven’t received any news regarding interviews yet)
UAL is really really good for art and design connections
I also got an offer from Goldsmiths(it has a wider network for other humanities subjects)

Still waiting for Slade myself.

UAL seems in absolute chaos at the moment. Spoke to some family friends non of them rate it highly at the moment so very skeptical!

Hey @toasted20,

Congratulations on your offer from Kingston!

I studied BA (Hons) Fine Art and Art History at Kingston and absolutely loved it. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about the course. 🙃

One of the things that I really loved about my course in terms of developing connections was the artist talks. Most Wednesday afternoons, a practicing artist with an ongoing exhibition in the UK would come in and give a lecture on their practice, how they get started in the industry and provide advice in terms of securing residencies/funding. It was a great way to meet successful artists and find about upcoming events/exhibitions.

Hope this was helpful and feel free to ask me anything,
Eve (Kingston Rep).

Good afternoon,

Choosing a university depends on what you want from your university experience. Every student wants something slightly different, such as lecture style or exam vs no exams. I always recommend deciding what you want from your university and writing a list. You can compare the two universities to your own criteria; this means the university will be the best fit for you.
The Whatuni website is good for Find A Course, as it offers a comprehensive list with reviews. Similarly, the UCAS website has tips on comparing undergraduate courses and universities, which is a great way to narrow down your options.

There is an ambassador scheme at the University of Reading where prospective students can message current students; more information is available here. They will be able to provide you with an insider's perspective on the degree and answer any questions you may have about the course.

All the best,
Ella

You heard back from Slade yet? I'm still waiting and I don't know whether to email admissions yet if it's too soon. I've also applied for Chelsea but only reason I'm considering going is because of networking opportunities. London is the place to be for making connections from what I've heard.

I had an interview yesterday. They told me they're going to ask 3 questions at the end that they ask everyone and then I presented my portfolio and they asked the 3 questions which are:

1.

Why Slade?

2.

Why BFA?

3.

How do you develop your work?
