Basically I did my recall audition, the 2nd and final process for the BA Acting course for ArtsEd on Thursday 12th February. I got rejected, but I really thought I had a good audition. In fact, during my speeches, which I performed in front of the Head of Acting, Head of Movemenet and Head of Voice, I didn't do so well the first 2 times of my classical monologue. They asked me to up the stakes and the anger to a 10 out of 10 level. I started performing the third time and after a couple of moments the Head of Acting had cut me off and literally said 'Now that's a 10/10'. And during my contemporary monologue, I did quite well and even got the audition panel laughing quite a bit on the last redirection of it.
I ended up getting rejected 4 days later on Tuesday 17th. I phoned ArtsEd to see if I could audition for the Foundation course and basically ended up on the phone with this guy who told me he didn't see the reason why I shouldn't be able to. He asked for my details and I gave them to him, and he tells me remembered me. He then explained that he'd speak with Head of the Foundation course and they would send me an email about it. We ended the call.
I was really curious to who this guy was and how he remembered me so I looked him up on the ArtsEd staff members, and it turned out to be the Head of Acting, who had given me the compliments after my speech and who had just said he remembered me!
That sounds like a really good thing but then why was I rejected? It's so frustrating not knowing why I wasn't accepted and I just wanted reasons from people who are also auditioning or are currently doing BA Acting courses or whatever.
