What do i do after receiving wrong academic misconduct allegations?

I have been accused of academic misconduct that I did not commit. They are deducting 10% of my grade for this.

The form they sent me states "You cannot appeal the decision that an offence of academic misconduct has occured" So i am just being charged with something I didn't do?

The scenario that they have conjured up and are accusing me of is not realistic at all and I don't know how the accusation wasn't thrown out. They think I cheated because I happened to use the same syntax as someone else for just one section of a question.

They never said in the assignment brief I wasn't allowed to use methods found in the documentation of the software they told us to use yet they are using that against me in the allegation.

I am extremely worried about this can somebody give me some advice please.

Hi there,

We're sorry to hear about your situation and understand how concerning this must be. We'd strongly recommend contacting Student Services or the Students’ Union Advice Team: https://www.su.rhul.ac.uk/advice/academic/misconduct/. They can review your case, explain the process in detail, and advise you on any options for appeal or further action.

You may also wish to also review the Academic Misconduct Policy on the university website to understand the procedures and your rights within them.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
