Hi @Labibibi ,

Congratulations on your offers! Here are a few factors to consider when choosing between the universities:

1) Route to qualification. As you're choosing between Law and PPL, I'm assuming you're considering a future career in law - if this is the case, it's important to note that the PPL will not be a qualifying law degree. In order to train to be a solicitor or barrister (starting with the SQEs and BPC respectively), after graduating, you would first need to study a postgraduate conversion course. While this will mean qualifying as a lawyer slightly later (the full-time PGDL is only 9 months!), this isn't necessarily a disadvantage. Rather, many law firms value non-law undergraduates for the unique and varied transferrable skills their degrees offer - politics especially should help you to develop a strong commercial awareness which will prove valuable in any legal/business career. I'm currently studying the PGDL now so happy to answer any questions about this 😊

2) Student Experience. To avoid burning out and ensure you have the best time at university, the social side will be just as important as the academic! Though most universities typically have similar core sports teams and societies, there may be some differences between Nottingham and Warwick; you may also find the facilities at each campus vary. I'd highly recommend having a look at both universities' websites and attending their post-offer visit days to get a proper feel for what student life is like (this can also be an opportunity to check out the local attractions, cafes and any other places of interest!)

3) Employability. It's important you choose a university with a strong employability team - this will be hugely valuable once you start making applications for internships, vacation schemes and, eventually, graduate positions. For example, I've found the employability team at ULaw incredible for both guiding me through application processes and also connecting me to potential employers. Make sure to have a look at what support both unis offer!

Ultimately, both are fantastic options that will open plenty of doors, so take your time to weigh up what matters most to you and trust your gut! Best of luck and let me know if you have any more questions 😊

Hi Labibibi,

I agree with Holly that you should visit both universities if possible to see which 'feels' right for you. Take advantage of the offer holder day where you will have an opportunity to learn more about the course and speak to tutors and current students taking the course (this is the case for University of Nottingham). Maybe you should make a list of what you would like your university experience to be, then compare your list with each university to see if it meets each element. Whichever university meets the most important things you are looking for, or has the most 'ticks', may help make your choice easier.

I hope this helps 🙂
