Too late to start revise

Guys im a gcse resit student but not coz i failed the first time but its that i wanted to get higher grades in order to do stem alevels next year.

My previous gcse grades were 655 and i kinda revise the weekend or the night before .

I couldve locked in ages ago but my grandad died and my current alevels termly assessment was coming up so i didnt get to have time to revise for gcses.

I really wanted to get at least 7 plus and idk if i lock from now would i still have enough time

Yes, 100% you'd still have enough time if you are serious about getting the grades you want.

Hi,

There is still time to achieve high grades.

Use the specification to guide your revision so you know exactly what you need to cover. Try active recall with flashcards, create mind maps to link ideas together, and practise topic by topic questions to strengthen weaker areas. Once you feel more confident, complete full past papers to work on timing and exam technique.

Focus on being strategic rather than perfect. You can still make solid progress from here.

Hope this helps, good luck with your studies!

Honestly, if you start now, you'll have a lot of time. One thing I've realised the more time you spend thinking about starting, the more excuses your brain makes, and you just start procrastinating. So I think you should just sit down and start and lock your phone away

Personally I think you can jump 2 to 3 grades in this amount of time if your headset is right about it. And if you stop using your phone😁

All i did was make the flasbcards for each topic (i was cramming so 1-2 topics per day but you have more time) then i did past papers and i went from a 4 to an 8 within two weeks.

The flashcards were huge but it was worth it and they didnt take long to get through after i memorised them

If you got 655 with little revising, it shows you are capable of 7+. If you start being consistent now and focus on exam practice, you absolutely have time to improve. You must set your targets, start from weak areas, and use mark schemes. That is the main thing which can enable to move from 6 to 7 grade.

Hi @vivilala 👋

I’m currently a second year biochemistry undergraduate at the University of Essex, so also really enjoy stem subjects.

My advice would be it’s never too late to start revising because any revision is better than none 😊. I would say try and stay organised with to do lists and what you would like to get done.
I’d also focus on topics that you really don’t understand rather than going over everything straight away even though it’s tempting.

Just stay calm and do the best you can do!
If you have any other queries I’m happy to answer 😀
