Quite possibly. It depends on the regulations and what he actually did.

Hi @Anonymous. Thank you for being so honest. And the short answer is they absolutely can, depending on how serious the damage was and how the university handles misconduct. But it is not automatic, and there's usually a process first.

This is treated as misconduct (not just as bad behaviour). What you are describing would definitely go under student misconduct. Universities take this seriously because it affects other students' safety and accommodation.

Most unis follow steps like:

Investigation by accommodation or student conduct team

Statements taken from witnesses/CCTV checked

The student invited to a disciplinary meeting

Remember, this is not your fault. You turning someone down is completely normal and valid. Their reaction is their responsibility not yours. Universities are very clear that retaliation or aggression after rejection is unacceptable.

If you still feel shaken or worried, you can:

report concerns to accommodation staff or security

speak to student wellbeing services

ask to remain anonymous if you're uncomfortable

They mainly want to make sure everyone feels safe where they live. Please feel free to let me know if you have any more questions,
