From what I know in Scotland you need 2 advanced highers to do medicine, for English unis it is 3 normally so it depends on what you're aiming for. If your school allows I would do 4 subjects and get some free periods to study, prepare for the UCAT etc. I would do biology and chemistry at advanced higher for medicine and then either higher psychology and philosophy or advanced higher maths and higher psychology. Advanced highers do correlate with success at university, so either option is good. Psychology seems more related to maths, biology and chemistry so if you're doing 3 AHs I would probably take it to limit the stress you're putting on yourself.

do advanced higher chem and bioligy because they are like eesential for medicine. do AH mah because its like one of the most important stem subject for university.

So concluvisevely, doing advanced higher BIOLIGY, CHEMISTRY AND MATH is the most favoured subject for medicine- it will give you competetive edge

Those are the same subjects I did! I ended up choosing adv bio chem and maths, honestly I think just pick what you're more drawn to but at the same time keep it relevant to medicine if you are able to.
Biology and maths I personally find fun, but I don't really like chemistry most of the time and I only picked it due to its relevance. Psychology or philosophy might make it heavy with all the memorisation unless that's something you enjoy doing, give it a thought for sure!

You dont need both bio&chem advhs for medicine at most med schools, usually thatd for dentistry. I would check the course spec for all of the subjects your contemplating taking, from experience ive really enjoyed both advh maths and biology

Maths has the advantage of no project - three AH projects can be a lot - so a good choice if you ‘get’ maths. Biology and Chemistry definitely do. All Scottish medical schools would be happy with that selection and if you did want to consider English medical schools (though fees….) it would keep that option open. Definitely look at what medical schools require on their websites - if they don’t require a subject then there is no advantage in doing it for your application and you can choose others (though still may be helpful during your course). You need to meet the subject requirements of all four medical schools you apply to. But do do subjects you feel confident of good grades in.

The UCAT is pretty much irrelevant to your choice - you will be taking it this over this summer so will be done by the time you are getting into your AH (book it before the end of the summer holidays).
