Which Laptop for uni ? Studying law

Hi, I’m going to uni soon to study law, and I was wondering what would be a decent laptop for uni. My budget is max 600. I’m looking for something that has a lot of storage, good running system like no lags, and something that last more than 5-7 years.
I do not mind if it’s big, just able to fit it a normal bag, and don’t mind if it’s heavy but not extremely heavy.
Good battery life also.
What would you recommend?

Law is a degree that doesn't require any real performance demands from its software, so a Windows laptop with Core i5 or Ryzen 5 processor from the last few years will be absolutely fine, and those laptops can cost as little as £350 on the Windows side or even less if you're willing to buy used/refurbished ones

The question then becomes whether you'd rather spend closer to your £600 maximum to get features you may like or or prefer, like a better screen or a smaller/lighter laptop, more internal storage (512gb is almost certainly going to be fine), something capable of playing games, a more premium design etc.

Choose Windows or Apple depending on how you want to roll.
Whatever you get, make sure it has 16GB of RAM.
