Hi everyone,
I’m currently considering enrolling in the distance learning MSc Computer Science with Data Analytics at Northumbria University. I know there are a few older threads comparing online CS conversion courses at places like York and Bath, but I'm struggling to find recent reviews specifically for the Northumbria Data Analytics pathway!
I do not have a STEM undergrad degree, but I have spent the last 3 years working in BI Development. I'm looking at this conversion course to formalise my self-taught knowledge, learn proper Object Orientated Programming, and get into cloud big data.
Is anyone currently on this course or has anyone completed it recently? I have the following questions:
How manageable is the "carousel" module structure while working full-time?
Does the Object Orientated Programming module assume you already know how to code, or is it a true beginner-to-advanced conversion?
What is the quality of the online tutoring and distance-learning portal? Do you feel supported when you get stuck on a coding assignment?
How heavy is the math in the Statistics and Business Intelligence module for someone without a formal maths degree?
Any insights, reviews, or advice would be much appreciated!
