British Science Week 2026: Sciences Hurt/Heal Game
British Science Week is taking place on The Student Room from 6 March to 15 March, and everyone is welcome to take part. We have lots of threads running throughout the week, and this sciences hurt/heal game thread is one of them.
Be sure to check the British Science Week 2026: Hub Thread to see other threads for you to take part in.
And remember, if you post in at least 15 threads by 31 March, you will also receive a British Science Week Certificate.

This is temporary hurt/heal game to celebrate British Science Week!
You might have seen hurt/heal games elsewhere on the site, and this one works the sameway:
- all the subjects start on 20 points
- each user has 5 points per day (UK time) that they can add or subtract from subjects in any combination (e.g. you could add 5 to one subject, subtract 5 from one subject or add 2 to one subject and subtract 3 from another subject)
- when 2 subjects remain, there is only the option to subtract (e.g. you could subtract 5 from one subject or subtract 2 from one subject and subtract 3 from another subject)
- once a subject falls to 0 points, it is eliminated from the competition until every subject, bar the winner, is eliminated
- no subject can exceed 75 points

VSL Notice:
I am leading British Science Week this year. Originally, I planned to include 15 subjects, as it is clear from other hurt/heal games that users find it difficult to reach an end point, with very few options ever being eliminated. I don't want this hurt/heal to go around in circles.
Because I am feeling kind and also cannot sleep, I have added 5 additional subjects. There are now 20 subjects in total. I have also put the subjects in alphabetical order.
We cannot include every subject, and the purpose of British Science Week as a project is to encourage a range of topics across multiple threads, not to capture every possible subject in a single game.
The subject list in the OP will remain as it is because it was not a simple process changing everything. If you study or enjoy/hate a subject that is not listed, please hurt/heal the closest related option.
Any other problems, please let me know.
