Extracurriculars (Sports) you can start older

I’m 15 and I’ve never been an athletic kid (always be picked last for sports, no one ever wanted me in their team ect) but now I’ve kind of got an interest in sports and I feel like it looks good to have a pursued interest on applications. The issue is, it feels too late to start most sports as people have been doing it since they were little and are way better at it than me. Is there any sports I can start where I won’t be the only beginner and won’t look stupid as an unathletic person?

Hii! I'm currently struggling with the same problem as you! I was never into sports as a kid but recently realised that it would look good on my CV for work experience, 6th form etc. Here are some tips that I hope are useful for you!

If your school has any after school extracurriculars (even just for fun) that you're interested in, attend! it allows you practise before you start doing it formally- I started doing badminton and netball with my school which has led me to join a badminton group in my local area

join teams, groups, or even just go to leisure centres with a friend, going with someone else (beginner or pro) can help with the awkwardness

If you know anyone in a sport you want to get into, ask them for advice!

Sorry if my tips were useless but I hope I could help! Good luck!! 😙

Thank you so much for the advice!
Do you find badminton to be quite a difficult thing to pick up? I feel like it might be something I’m interested in but I have 0 experience.
