Hi, I was wondering for a reflective Higher English essay how many words max your intro should be? Mines is currently almost at 200 words which I think is pushing it, and was thinking I might need to cut it down?

I actually, surprisingly, got full marks for my higher english reflective and honestly my advice is - write loads! Write loads and loads to start even if its all awful whatever, trust me it doesnt matter. Then once you've written that first draft, you'll know what you can take out, be critical of yourself and cut out what you dont need, rephrase etc etc to get down to word count. It depends on the piece, depends what you're writing about but yeah, my advice is to just write more then cut down afterwards and dont get bogged down in word count to start with!

Honestly I think 150-200 is the perfect amount for an intro! My nat5 personal reflective got 28/30 and my intro was 180 words!
