At least in some countries in the indonesian region will have those sensors to sense earthquakes, so people will know they will be coming. Therefore, less people would be dead and they can prepare early to move before getting caught in the earthquakes.

how big are these quakes on the richter scale?? Media coverage to some extent depends on its size.

ive heard between 6.5 and 7. lets just say if happened here, we'd be hearing about it for the next century.

It was reported 6.9 last night - I was watching it break at about 3am, and yes, surprised at how little interest there was.
