SOAS first class criteria

I understand one of the criteria at soas to get a first class is to average 70% over all modules but do they have any other criteria. For example if a student got a 2:2 in one module and that brought down their grade from a first to a 2:1, then would this not be recognised at all.

Hi there,
Assuming you are a current student at SOAS would advise going to speak to your department convenor or even your academic advisor for this. They would be able to give you a more definite answer as to the breakdown how each module contributes to your overall grade.

If you are a prospective student, I would recommend emailing the department convenor for your degree choice, they will be able to clarify how each module contributes to your degree as well as what can affect getting a first.

Hope this helps,
Sarah:smile:
