Second Degree Funding - Foundation Year

Hi,

I'm planning to take a second degree course in dietetics. One course I'm interested in is at London Met. The foundation year is part of a Human Nutrition degree (course code B405) with access to the either Dietetics (B403) or Dietetics and Nutrition (B401) on successful completion of the foundation year. Am I likely to get any loan funding for the foundation year, either tuition fees or maintenance? I have already used five years through previous study (a four-year degree and a PGCE).

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

The foundation year wouldn't be funded as that course isn't classed as an exception course. You would be funded for your second degree as long as you're not already registered in the field you're looking to study. Thanks, Jason

Hello,

Thanks very much for your answer. A second question, if I may?

Would this degree, which has an integrated foundation year, attract funding for the complete course (including the foundation year) as a second degree? As mentioned above, I already have a first degree (four years) and a PGCE (one year with QTS).

Nutrition and Dietetics BSc (Hons) with Foundation Year - B4D2

Thanks for your help. 😊

Hi there,

Yes, this course is showing as an exception: a course like this with an integrated foundation year is fine.

Thanks, Graeme
