Feeling lost on how to secure a graduate job in the great 2027

I'm in my 2nd year of Economics with Acc, I feel so lost. I've only applied to a couple summer internships/placements for finance/accounting/consulting. Most rejected me at the stage of CV/COVER LETTER PART only. I don't have much experience, I've only got tutoring, few networking events, consulting academy, ambassador role at uni.

I've tried applying for leadership roles at societies and an email gets ignored, I don't get voted or it's been filled by a friend of the president.

I don't even know where to begin with researching my career or events to look for, there's barely any to none work experience for 2nd years or I've found out too late and the deadline was in September, SEPTEMBER!!

Can somebody please help guide me! it's almost the end of this academic year too :/

If you can’t get past the first stage maybe it’s just tweaking your CV (formatting, key words, etc). You can ask your tutor or someone like that for a meeting to help with touching up your cv/cover letter.

It’s not too late dw, I was applying every week until I got accepted in a random placement 2 months before third year started.

Try getting into student led organisations such as Enactus or 180DC if ur uni got them. Its honestly a numbers game with job applications also try acquiring skills by completing courses on coursera or forage just to add them on ur linkedin.also make sure to ATS optimise ur cv and try tracking applications to see where u get rejected also use gradfirst to practice online assessments ur uni could be providing free premium accounts in it its hard out there for everyone good luck push through it
