Clearing & Deferring uni?

Just wondering when I should defer my offers. I have received conditional offers from all of my chosen unis.

I’ve not had the best circumstances health-wise over the course of my GCSEs and A Levels so far, so my reasons for deferring would be to prioritise getting some work experience and learning to drive because I haven’t had the chance to do so.

So I’ve taken a few months to consider this & I know I’d like to defer the offer from my chosen uni & course to next year. But all of my conditionals are lower than my predicted grades & I’m currently working at consistently high grades - not sure if this would mean I’d have to go through clearing or not? And if so would going through clearing still allow me to defer?

Why would go have to go for clearing because your conditional is lower than your predicted grades? You'd be surpassing the conditional offer, which is good, it doesn't invalidate your offer

Anyways, you should get in touch with the unis to ask to defer for a year. A lot of unis will happily allow this, others won't. You won't know until you ask.

Clearing would not allow you to defer. Clearing after all is to fill out spaces in the academic year that is imminently about to start.

Hi,

This means that you will meet the entry requirements since your predicted grades are higher than the conditional offers.
