Cambridge Mphil Finance and Economics vs LSE MSc Finance and Risk

I've currently got an offer for both programs and unsure on which one to pick. My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in high finance.

The requirements for Cambridge are quite high (75% average required in final year) so I'm unsure on whether I'm able to meet this. While the Cambridge name is attractive, since my ultimate goal is to work in industry, I'm drawn more towards LSE.

Any insight from anyone studying these programs or general advice would be appreciated.

Cambridge is so much better. The world brand is just cooler and everybdy know about it. LSE is also top but this is different league more like Imperial

Both brands carry a lot of weight. Neither program is the flagship program at their school, but both universities are excellent and the programs are still very strong. That being said, the LSE program is more vocational and easier to explain to employers. Your peer group will mostly consist of people aiming to break into Investment Banking or top consulting firms. The Cambridge MPhil, on the other hand, is more research-focused. However, many students still end up working in finance and do not pursue a PhD afterwards. If your goal is a career in finance, LSE is probably the more direct route. Cambridge is obviously also very good, but the proximity to the major banks in London and the employment reports clearly show that LSE has a very strong pipeline into the industry. Even if it is not the MSc Finance or the MSc Finance & Private Equity, LSE is still THE university for investment banking in London.
