Best Uni for Opportunities?

Hello! I am an international student and my dream is to become a solicitor in the UK, so I applied for an LLM Conversion Course. I know that the job opportunities for the legal field is few because a lot of people has gone for it, but I still want to try and shoot my shot. With that being said, which university should I go for that would provide me with plenty of experience?
- University of Law
- University of Winchester
- University of Brighton

Thank you for the response!

If your main goal is loads of experience + employability”, pick the place where you can actually get real clinic/pro bono hours, not just lectures.

University of Law: probably the strongest for structured pro bono + careers support (they run big legal advice/pro bono programmes).

University of Brighton: solid shout if you want a uni vibe and a proper Legal Clinic (students give supervised advice).

Winchester: good course, but double-check what practical opportunities you’ll get alongside it.
And yes, CCCU is worth considering too, especially if you want hands-on, community-facing experience: CCCU students can volunteer with CLOCK (Community Legal Companions), and there’s also a Mediation Clinic, which looks great on applications and can count as meaningful experience. You can visit our law course as well, in case you consider it as an option on this link- Law - Canterbury Christ Church University

Hello!

I did a law conversion course at the University of Law last year. I would definitely recommend it! It prepared me very well for the SQE, the materials were clear and helpful, and it was great having the same class for every subject to make good friends! ULaw has links to many top law firms, as many send their future trainees there to study conversion/SQE courses (this was my position), so there are often events held with firms exclusively for ULaw students. We also have a great careers service and a legal advice clinic, where you can get direct experience.

I would recommend attending an open day or booking a campus tour to find out more

I hope this is helpful!
