Hiya!!

First of all, the Sutton Trust Durham summer school is usually quite small (around 20 places for the Business/Management strand) so it’s normal that not loads of people online have applied to the exact same one yet. If you do get in though, don’t worry about not knowing anyone - most people arrive not knowing anyone at all, and the programme is designed so you make friends really quickly through activities, group work and staying in college accommodation. Find more information here.

About the maths question:
For the Durham Business (Marketing & Management) summer school, the subject requirement is that;
Students must have a grade 6 or above in Maths GCSE OR grade B or above in the Core Maths Qualification for this subject, if Maths not taken at A Level. Therefore, your grades meet the requirements.

However, a couple of important things:

Sutton Trust looks at lots of factors, not just grades (school background, postcode, first-generation uni etc.

About the predicted B you entered: that’s usually fine if it reflects what you realistically think you could achieve - many applicants enter predicted grades themselves if their school hasn’t formally provided them yet.

And if you do get in, don't let that be the end of your journey at Durham. Still apply in the next year or two for a main university course if you are interested as there are a lot more places. But if you are successful loads of people start group chats before the summer school so you won’t arrive without knowing anyone. Plus you will have introductory sessions on the first day, and everyone will be in the same boat of not knowing many people!

If you have any more questions please feel free to reach out!

I'm currently in yr 12 and I'm also picking. This as my firm choice that's why I wanted to apply Durham to be able to get more consideration on the course
